Winstar

Now on to the hands......

The first pot I entered was with the A,Q from middle position. I riased before the flop to $20 and got 2 callers. The flop came k,q,q and I lead out for $25. All fold and I win the first pot of the night I play.

One lap later I get A,Q in middle position again and make it $20 to go. I get one caller and the flop comes k,x,x. I cbet $20 and get raised to $60 and I fold.

The first biggish losing hand I have is when I had 4d3d from UTG. ost of the table was playing passive so I took a shot at limping. There were two other limpers plus the small and big blinds and we take the 6d5d10d five handed. I lead out $30 into the $50 pot with my flush and open ended straight flush redraw and get one caller. Turn brings a 4th diamond to the board (jd). I bet $30 and get min-raised to $60. I call hoping for a miracle on the river. River came a blank and I check folded to a $75 bet.

After that pot I chip away and build my stack to around $425 before the next big hand of the night comes around. I get the KcJc in late position and limp. We go to the flop 5 handed when the board comes Js3c2c. A very good flop for my hand. I lead out for a pot sized bet of $25. I get one caller and the next player raises to $75. I call and the other player calls. The flop re-raiser in this hand started with $140 and the caller had around $200. The turn is the certain death card of a 3. The short stack pushes for $60, I reluctantly call and the other player calls. The river is a blank and the two of us with chups left go check check. The short stack flips over 2,2 for a turned boat. I knew I was beat on the turn but couldn't get away from the hand. Back down to around $230 or so after that pot.

I break even for the next 45 minutes or so incliding getting pocket aces with a $20 raise pre-flop and no callers.

Next big hand I get k,k from three off the button in this straddle pot. An early position player makes it $35 to go. I just call along with one other player on the button. The flop comes q,j,x rainbow. Initial raiser checks, I make it $60 to go and the button pushes (he has me covered by $10). Pre-flop raiser folds. The guy who pushes all in I have seen make stabs at pots with little which didn't matter in this hand. The bog thing I saw him doing all night is overplay top pair on several occasions. I have him on A,Q or the less likely k,q. I decide to call. Turn comes another jack and the river is a blank. He tables A,Q (good read) and I take the pot. This was the only hand of the night I was all-in on.

the next hour is a mish mash of hands including winning a small pot with a turned set of 9's and a rivered straight with the 4,4 after a 6,3,2 flop.

I ended up cashing out up a whole $11 ahead. Meh, a winning session.

On to Atlantic City next weekend for three night of pure poker.
